So who's going to see the wondrous Duke at the Scala

and there's a rumour of a gig afterwards (fuelled by a conversation with the Dukester at the Barfly) although no-one else seems to confirmed this yet....

anyone else know if it's going to happen ??

As far as I know, Duke's headlining at the Ginglik www.ginglik.co.uk and it's being filmed for the Peformance Channel (as a pilot).

It's a "members only" club but you can get free membership on the night as long as you have photo ID. You also need to email Amity Fletcher (amityfletcher@aol.com), who organises the music evenings, to ask to be added to the reservations list (she can also book you a table). Tickets are a fiver.

I'm gonna try to get to both! :)

Excellent, excellent evening yesterday! Saw Duke Special at the Scala and Ginglik too.

The Scala was a good gig and I like the venue but bit too much chatting going on near me! Good to hear I Don't Love You and they finished with Salvation Tambourine which always goes down a storm.

We managed to get into the Ginglik and saw a couple of the support acts there before Duke was on. The Ginglik is a fantastic venue, despite being a converted public toilet - it's v. arty but in a good way with pictures round the walls, draped low ceilings and an artist who illustrates the songs which are projected on a wall whilst the musicians are playing. They always have really good singers/bands there too. They were both excellent gigs but I preferred this one cos the sound was perfect and crystal clear. The crowd are a bit more reverential of the players there so not so much background noise. Duke's voice sounded amazing in that setting and it was the best rendition of Low that I've ever heard - spine-tingling!

Thanks Duke and Chip for a magical, musical evening. Sorry we had to leave halfway through the last song but we had to catch the last trains back to North London!

being right at the front meant we weren't affected too much by the "chatterers" !!
A lovely set although too short , wish he could have amde it out for an encore but I'm sure they won some new fans who origianlly were only there for Gemma ( who was great too!!)

My talented other half managed to get some nice shots a few examples of which are below
