I started this thread on the old fourm, so I though I may as well start one here too!
I'm from Antrim originally, but now mainly based in Belfast :-)
There just aren't enough Duke Special concerts over here at all!
Steve.

Hi, I'm new. I'm from Monaghan. I'm new to Duke Special too after seeing him on BBC2 a few weeks back. Came here and ordered his EP, thought it pure class and I'm waiting on his album to be delivered, which I can't wait for. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing him live yet, but I will.....
Im form Wigan. right in between manchester and liverpool!

Born in Germany and still living there. :D
Will I ever see the Duke here again? :?
Was born in Yorkshire, and then moved to Dublin. [It's cool to see the Duke well represented by the Tykes!]
And I think the problem is that there just aren't enough Duke Special gigs, in general. [will there ever be enough gigs?]

Yes, Belgium, known to mankind as the most boring country in the world, known to UN stats as the fifth best country in the world to live in. I wonder if the UN uses beer, chocolate and no closing hour for bars as their criteria.
I'm from Co. Kildare, just on the border and live a place called Leixlip. Dublin is basically just down the road. So tis pretty handy for going to gig's and heading out. :)
Ooh! Forgot one important thing, Leixlip is the home of Guinness.... 8)

I was there in the heat wave of 2004 with a group from Kosovo, Northern Ireland and Belgium discussing conflict...
I danced in front of the cathedral in Antwerp and I was on Antwerpian television waxing lyrical about the similarities between our glorious nations and our conflicts!

sorry chica, Lough shore for me= Lough Neagh, lough shore for you= Belfast Lough...
But I have been past your house many times annnd when I lived round the corner on campus, I used to go to your Lough Shore to clear my head until I couldnt sleep and went for a walk at 5am one morning and narrowly escaped being mauled by a big scary dog that had been let off his lease cos the owner assumed to buck eejit would up at that time!! heehee

Ahh right makes sense! If I were you I wouldn't be dandering about the Lough Shore Park at early hours on your own...

I'm still not impressed the took away the round-a-bout from down there, even though it used to make me sick!

teehee, shame I don't watch ATV religiously. I'm quite amazed that they projected Belgian history as one of conflict. Compared to you guys and Kosovo we got quite lucky. In the 19th century everyone grew tired of us and we got to be on our own.
And yes Katie, Quick sure beats Supermacs when it comes to 'homegrown fastfood'
Not much of a beer drinker, so dunno about the Kriek, the Duke seemed to prefer Kwak....
Have you tried jenever?

I am originally from Carlisle, but have lived in Plymouth on and off for 26 years. Did 2 tours of 3 years in Gibraltar when i was in the navy.
Never been to Belgium but people say it is well worth a visit and a close friend raved about Namur, I'd never heard of it before.

:D yeah I have :) I just happen to love Kriek... must be the novelty of Cherry Beer. Im not much of a beer drinker... but you cant really help yourself in Belgium. I spend a good bit of time over in Brussels... heading over in about 2 weeks again!!

Yay, I'm not the only one from Leixlip (sorry, old thread I just dug out). There is a festival every year here for the June Bank holiday. The likes of the Coronas, Blizzards, Hot House Flowers, Republic of Loose play in our local...not bad for a small town. Dukester, would be amazing if you showed up some year :)

This thread is hilarious since that old mixup when everyone's names changed apart from mine for some reason. The thought of Flackmeister in the navy is brightening up a very dull day in work lol.

Born and raised in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, though Dad was military until I was 12 so we moved a bit - California, Georgia, and several places in Virginia. Currenly living in Washington, DC (yep, actually *in* the city, which is uncommon), but hopefully someday soon will be living on the other side of the Atlantic. Fingers crossed!
