I'd never heard of duke special, well one of my friends had and she really liked him so she dragged me along last night to the empire to see him. SO we got there and i looked VERY out of place! so did she mind you..so we were standing there making very ackward conversation when this guy was tryin to get past me- he had dreadlocks (yes it was the duke himself) but i having no idea who he was wouldnt move. great start to the night! So i dragged my buddy to the front and we stood there waiting. The he came out and OMG i was blown away- AMAZING!! can't wait to see him again...:D

I'm regretting not leaving the Rotterdam earlier to be honest. I'm having a day of recovery here...

Nice to have met you on Saturday Steve, shame I didn't bump into you later for a proper chat. Did you get plenty of quality pics on your Nikon?
There was more than one Nikon there so I asked about for 'Steve' and a few helpful Duke followers pointed me in the right direction

It was packed (naturally)! Chip's son Matt, I believe, was being helped by another chap to dj. I'm not sure what time the whole thing ended at, but thanksfully I believe I left before that :)

Having travelled from Birmingham to see Duke, enjoyed two fantastic nights at the Empire and a good time at the Rotterdam too with the lovely people we met - Andy, Scot, Clare,Steve and good old Mel who dropped us there even tho she wasn't stopping herself! What a trooper. I think Belfast is fantastic and hope to return again in the near future. For those of you who are lucky enough to live there, be grateful for the wonderful music talent your wonderful city seems to breed.

Actually, my friend sent me a message last night saying he was in the Empire and Duke Special were playing! Had a slight moment of panic but then it turned out it was only a song playing and not the band. :) How good would a 'Christmas Eve at the Empire' Duke gig be though.... *hints for next year*
