Never been to it. is it a good venue. would you guys recommend it?

it's possibly the best small/medium sized venue in belfast. great for both acoustic and full band performances. duke special, iain archer and the winding stair have put on great shows there. the sound quality is usually fantastic and the crowds you get in are mostly real music fans who will support and appreciate the artists unlike many other venues where the main aim is to get drunk! although it is possible to get drunk in the empire too as anyone who was there on 27th may will vouch for lol...

The Walls are in there in July. Great band live...might take a spin up...can you recommend somewhere to stay nearby?

Does anyone on the board have/know of where i can get video footage of the last two times he played on the empire? that link above was a phenominal gig to be honest, and id love to see the most recent one that was on the saturday night, i did see a couple of people with video cameras there. PM me or mail me if anyone does know.

there is talk of a dvd being put out at some stage. there are posts about it somewhere on the boards but i can't be arsed looking for them right now!

The Tara lodge is just on the next street. Other places to stay are Dukes hotel, Days hotel and the travel lodge.They're all pretty close.No more than 10 min walk.
