TheEF First Birthday - BETAMAX FORMAT + guests (June 29th)

The Electric Fix (TheEF) celebrates it first year in existence by returning to Whelan?s on June 29th. Performing at this auspicious occasion are BETAMAX FORMAT, SUPER EXTRA BONUS PARTY and LPX. Doors for this show are 7.30pm and admission is 10 Euros (tickets available from WAV Ticketbox).

The promotions collective, launched in June 2005, is run by Leigh O'Gorman [of electro/rock act LPX] and was started as a scheme to bring in bands and artists that he finds entertaining and interesting.

Caustic and corrosive, vibrant and vehement; Betamax Format know the drill. They played alongside The Kills and Ladytron at the Berlin Festival 2005 and returned to Berlin in September to play a show in legendary underground club West Germany. They toured the UK in November as support to the Wedding Present and also played a show alongside New York LIARS.
2006 so far = nastier, louder, sleazier.

Super Extra Bonus Party are a Dublin based Irish music collective and have been writing and performing live in their current line up since November 2005. Wonderfully loose, yet in tune with each other, Super Extra Bonus Party comprises of core members Cormac Brady, Mike Donnelly (programming, production, synths, samples, scratching), Stephen Fahey (bass, guitars, and trumpet) and Rodrigo Teles (MC).
At times, the line-up also expands to include Sean Corcoran (guitar, production, synths), Gavin Elsted (guitar, drums) and Niall Byrne (visuals, design) and together they bring home the full power of this flourishing unit.

Opening the night is LPX ? a one-man electronic air-punching machine. Manned by Kildare-based Leigh O?Gorman, his aural assault mobile via verbal and sound sha'ttack, is known for playing abrasive and commanding shows, expect dubby sounds by way of (mount)joy Division and synth growls by way of your (f)ears.
