I don't know if any of you know (or know me for a start!) but I've recently started doing improvised comedy and this month will be my first time on stage.

It would be great if some of you could come down and support me! I'm gonna need all the help I can get!

The show is next Thursday night at The Newcastle Arts Centre.

Check out the Suggestibles MySpace....
http://www.myspace.com/suggestibles ......add them (and add me) to keep updated!

Here's the blub....

A dozen or more fearless actors battle for the cheese in a night of improvised comedy. After weeks of workshop experiment the bravest performers come together to fall apart. Who will be the sole survivor? You decide.

Can't be there Ian - sorry - but wish you all the best ........ break a leg ....or the 100 yd dash to the bus stop if it all goes wrong.
Are you doin' Geordie stand-up?
T'other day I got a junk mail advert for a VW car which had some stickers with it. Gave them to wor bairn who stuck some around the house - Caution - Stairs etc. in the obvious place. Then she said 'Can I stick this one on the cat?'....it said CAUTION - TRIP HAZARD. Made me laugh anyway....

haha I could steal that and use it as part of an act! very funny. :D

It's all made up on the spot, which is the thing that's worring me. I'm yet to try 'stand up' comedy, but would like to try one day! hopefully thursday will go well though, cheers for your best wishes :)

oooh sorry i've not been on here properly for a while, hadn't realised you'd replied!!

it went alright, could have gone better for me personally - but the show as a whole was ace.

I'm comparing tomorrow! It's only my second time on stage but I think I'll have a go at comparing this, as it could be the only chance I get! haha.

Also did not realise there had been a reply. Strange though 'cos I usually get an email alert :)
Ian,
I'm in deepest awe that you stood up on stage in the first place
Being a 'lady' of mature years and in an occupation usually the preserve of the male of the species (gardening) I had a request early this year to speak to a Women's Institute group. In spite of a history of 27 years as a primary school teacher, I was hopeless........however, they were very kind and I have another speaking engagement next year.......gawd help me!!!!
And, although I have an IQ of 130 at the last count I am hopeless at spelling............
There's no need for snide comments here :( Shame on you all.
Intending to see Duke supporting the Divine Comedy at Newcastle Uni in October........funds seriously depleted due to daughter's 18th on 22nd of that month and we've bought tickets for a squad of her friends to see Lily Allen 2 days before at the same venue. Maybe someone on the forum is going to that gig. I can't afford to go but if you see a giggly gang of girls- well that's who it is! Just don't buy them alcohol

I'm sorry for spelling things wrong. I was nervous. Was great weighing up the pros and cons of the other comics though :P

I had a great time on Sunday....we got an amazing reception and I think we'll be doing more gigs in the next few months! Should be great. Check out www.myspace.com/suggestibles and if we do anymore shows they'll be listen on there!

I'm not going to see Lilly Allen, as interesting as her act is, but speaking of her... the band I do PR stuff with (and have shamelessly mentioned a good number of times on here!)- Indigo Colony - are releasing their debut single "Even A Little" on the same label as Lilly Allen's recent no1 hit! It's out on vinyl on 12th September but it's available to download on iTunes now I think! Please support them if you can! :)

Reet I'm going to bed x

Have spoken to the sprog about downloading the band. She's the one with all the gadgets and gismos. Haven't a clue, me....
Have heard Lily Allen doing a session on Radio 2 (don't knock it folks - it's only Wogan for 2 hours out of 24) and she was very good indeed. Still would like to go but have just priced the taxi to take the girls at ?100 so must save the pennies................but then no one really needed to know that did they?
