Yes, it has come to that time of the year again folks. It certainly doesn't feel like a year ago we were watching Mr.Special on the 27th October in the Empire. However it is back filled with more wonderful sights and sounds from around the world.
This year it lauches with a spectacular fireworks display called "Cracker" in the Botanic Gardens assembled by (*if you excuse the pun, but this what they are called*) "The World Famous" group who brought us 'Sticky' in 2003.
The festival itself hosts a whole range of activites/ gigs from Comedy Nights to Art Workshops to Music Extravagansa's. Not only do they have music from the likes of Red Sirus to Torch with Maria Tecce, but they have outdone themselves this year by creating a 'Spiegeltent' (tent of mirrors) which will see the likes of Cabaret to World Music from what I understand. It is undoubtably shaping up to be a rather full bodied and explosive 44th Queen's Festival.
More info can be found out here http://www.belfastfestival.com/ and recomendations for good gigs to look out for is much appreciated!
