Hello,

Apologies to the regulars if this has already been posted, but I am a new fan/convert and I downloaded my first Duke songs last week!

I first heard Duke's songs on the http://www.myspace.com/dukespecial, Portrait, Maps, Last Night and Scarlett and then went and purchased/downloaded them.

The trouble is that the donwloaded versions are not the same as the ones on MySpace. They are good and I like them, but the other versions were alos very good.

Can anyone tell me where I might buy the MySpace versions, or if they are available?

Thanks, Nigel

Hello Nigel,

Welcome to the board. Presumably you have downloaded the versions of Portrait, Last Night, and Wake Up Scarlett from the EPs.

The new versions on the myspace website are off the new album "Songs From The Deep Forest" which is not out yet. I believe end October is the release date.

Chris

You took the words right out of my mouth, Chris ;)

Welcome, Nigel, hope you stick around :) May I ask how you discovered the Duke?

you can buy the single of portrait on vinyl or download from itunes etc.

that's where you'll get those versions of portrait and maps, as well as two other great tracks.

last night and scarlett are currently available on songs from the deep forest on vinyl, to be released on cd and download on 23 october with last night being released as a single on the 16th.

also you may have noticed by now that the myspace songs have changed to something new :)

Thanks for and sorry for the slow response, have been travelling with work. You are correct, I downloaded them off the DS.com site, from which I understand they were originally from the EPs. I look forward to this new album!

Cheers, Nigel

I hope to! To answer your question, from a link on Brian Houston's MySpace and also from an interview with Brian (I am a big BH fan). My wife also likes Duke's music since I sent her the link...and our 3 kids are also enjoying him!! Though I am not sure yet how I feel about my oldest, 7yo, singing 'Last night I nearly died...' :!: Duke is coming to the UEA in November so we hope to go and see him live!!

Cheers, Nigel

Im waiting to spew out some waffle any day now on this board when I'm mustard...

The fact remains that I have refrained from doing it all this time so I suspect that I have more self respect deep inside that wants me to retain some dignity...

Not to fear, I'm sure you will all know when I'm drunk on this board (*keep your eyes peeled*)

I was probably to shocked that they didn't possess any guinness to compute that there were cocktails!

Were they nice and 'brain-erasing' ?

well my new mate Dean and I quickly moved on from our JDs to these wonderful things called 'chocolate martinis' yyyuuuummmmmmmmmmm

not sure about the 'brain-erasing' properties but i guess it did help me to spend the night talking to complete strangers instead of being quiet little katie and sitting in the corner. personality in a glass eh :) lmao

There isn't a smiley that can express my feelings at the moment...

But guinness is always a must when out on the tear! The other drinks just usually settle in around the guinness to give you a break from "stout breath" lol!
