"No Cover Up", what a lovely little song, such gorgeous vocals and lyrics, esp love the sweet sound of the strings towards the end, pure beautiful. :) (apologies if this has already been posted).

Yes, it's a v. v. beautiful song, probably my favourite on the album (although that changes from time to time). :)

Hey Ro babe!!

How weird is that?! Yay for you finally listening to me and loving DS too...your just jealous of my pic ain't ya? No cover up was my fave song as soon as I heard it, every lyric has so much meaning for me...

"no cover up my faith is sliding...just sharp reminding of the fake I was...

If you try to find me you will never win, for behind each layer lies this other skin,
I'd love to let you near, if you find a way in..

Just wreck and rubble of the person I was...

I could use your pardon and a lot of hope"

That does it for me everytime! Sorry for my extensive quotation there, was making my point that most lines in that song hit me! :D

Welcome to the forum babe...its much nicer than SP..no scary oldie types like ahem Jacqs to contend with!! hehe

Teehee got it in one! I couldnt agree more!

Have to admit 'No Cover Up' has remained my firm favourite from the very start and even though Im usually changing my mind and falling in love with different songs at different times, nothing has overtaken this song....

Do ya reckon it will ever be a single release or just one of those jems that are saved for the album release only??

Duke Special is supposed to be supporting the Snow Patrol Dublin gig that I am heading to in Dec!! (as you prob already know  ) So I will finally get to hear this little beauty of a song live....... :D It's gonna be the gig of the year, my two favourites combined......

You could try, it would be a gig well worth getting into. :) Just say to them that your passport is out of date and being renewed and that "You wouldn't ruin a girl's 18th birthday night by not letting her see her favourite bands now would you?" Fingers crossed it works for you!

What a perfomance of "No Cover Up" from Duke on Jools Holland...it sounds even better live. I'd say every member of the audience that had the pleasure of watching it and people that were watching at home are now fans. :)

Yeah I couldnt agree more. I was checking out the faces of people in the audience around them and you could tell by their expressions that they felt it too...

No Cover Up was the first song i heard by the Duke and it has remained a firm favourite. It is such a beautiful and simple song, can't really compare it to anything.

Love his performance of it on Jools, quite haunting.

I think everybody has different feelings when they hear that song.

It is truely a personal anthem for everyone of us...

I can nearly guarentee that very person on this board has a story or image in their head when they hear that song live or otherwise.

This my seem like a silly question, but what's wrong with posting in slightly older threads if it's relevant?

This my seem like a silly question, but what's wrong with posting in slightly older threads if it's relevant?

Because a thread being dead for two years means that it has run its course. That, and there have been countless, more relevant threads created about said song since.
