buongiorno!
Ed Harcourts latest album is more sophisticated than previous releases with some lavish and complicated strings/horns/piano arrangements but still excellent listening. I have all his albums. You should check his website or 'space' for tour dates, he is really good live too.
Arrivederci

Ed Harcourt news - a compilation album is due out on 8th october apparently, it includes a new track and a couple of previously unreleased tracks too. He'll also be on tour from mid october. Anyone unfamiliar with his work should give him a listen, i think his style would be enjoyed by most Duke fans.

There are actually striking similarities between Ed and a certain other person we all like. His 2006 album "The Beautiful Lie" was just that... Beautiful. He is a master of mixing genres and adding some really interesting samples (you only have to listen to Scatterbraine to see what I mean). The album's opening track, Whirlwind in D Minor just blew me away, particularly with the spannish guitar taking such a prominant place. And as for Revolution of the Heart.. Wow.
I will say though, that I was slightly disappointed in some of the earlier albums but I think that was because I had seen him live first and they just didn't quite live up to that experience but they are still better than most of the mainstream rubbish that seems to dominate the airwaves... please no more boy bands!
I can't wait for the release of the greatest hits album in a few weeks. Think its set for 2nd October

I thought his previous album "Strangers" was one of the best albums ever, Beatiful Lie was excellent but not quite as good. It would be odd if we all agreed on everything:)

Totally agree. Its our differences that make life interesting and at least we agree on the important stuff - his music is good!
