I don't even know what an itune is!! If it's not on CD or vinyl, I can't cope
Izumi do the vinyl, don't they???

Izumi do usually do Vinyl releases but for some reason this is being advertised as a digital release. I assume that it's a lot more cost-effective to produce digital releases rather than pressing vinyl and cd's and is therefore more beneficial to the charity involved. If I hear any news of it coming out on CD I'll let yous know!
awww yes david ford and duke? brilliant! what songs will they be recording? is the new version of freewheel on it?

Classic...as I mentioned b4! :D
they should do 'fairytale of new york'!!!!!!!!
A classic Christmas song indeed. :) I think it was voted as the greatest Christmas song of all time in 2004 and 2005 by VH1. I would love Duke Special to cover this as a duet with a female artist, twud be perfect for him as it's mainly accompanied by piano.

Hi Found this while browsing today...
Pop CD of the Week: Various Artists: It?s Not Like Christmas
DAN CAIRNS
It?s Not Like Christmas
That rare thing, a great Christmas record, this album lets its contributors make merry with cover versions and original songs. The 12 Days of Christmas, performed by a supergroup including Kathryn Williams, Futureheads and Field Music, captures precisely why the project works. At once informed by a warm fidelity and a spirit of anarchy, the track hurtles thrillingly towards its denouement. Other highlights include Duels? sinister reading of Do You Hear What I Hear? and El Perro del Mar?s overwrought Oh! What a Christmas. Minuteman?s cover of Wham!?s Last Christmas flirts with feyness before luring the song into a very dark place indeed. Best of all is Of Whoredom and Falconry, by Duke Special and David Ford, which sends a chill up the spine, as all great Christmas songs should. It?s available on iTunes from Wednesday and in stores on December 13; all royalties go to Shelter. Four stars

Got this today...
Nice little CD, It takes away a bit from it when u listen to some of the songs on their myspace and not others, so you have favourites...
Never the less great CD!
Yeah, my CD arrived on Tuesday too and I'm thrilled with it.
That version of Last Christmas is a real thinker.
I emailed Izumi records just to say thanks and got a reply by return - no complaints about the service from me.
They produced 1000 copies, some are available through indie record shops and they're running an ad in NME.
The last date for orders pre-Christmas is 19th December so anyone who hasn't got theirs yet had better hurry up!
Incidentally, David Ford's singing about Lewes not wherever it was someone else said!!!!!
It's a lovely duet with our Duke.....brilliant :D
xx
Mine also arrived on Tuesday and I love it. Thankfully, it's not traditional Christmas songs! I love that version of "Last Christmas" - it makes me smile but I played it to a friend last night (after we got back from the Duke gig) and he thought I was bonkers!
The David Ford/Duke Special song is v. excellent of course and I really like David Ford's "Bitter Little Christmas" too. :D
anyone find this to download anywhere other than itunes??
Why not blue a tenner for Shelter and buy the CD?
You know you're worth it :D

Love you, guys!
Merry Christmas :D

Hi have to put a bid in for The Electric Soft Parade's track as being up there with the best on this album.....
and I have to hear more by the new band mentioned here:
Featuring exclusive tracks from 17 artists including Duke Special, Duels, David Ford, The Joseph & Mary Envelopes, El Perro Del Mar and Amusement Parks On Fire the album is a combination of original material and a few tasty re-workings of some Christmas classics.

Ah Christmas. On the way to the Foy gig on Monday Grafton Street had just had its lights turned on and they're so gorgeous. It cost a bomb though! Can't wait for the Budweiser Christmas ad.
"The people at Budweiser wish you and yours the very best of everything this holiday season" or something like that!:p
I must get that album too! Nearly time to start putting all the Christmas songs back on the i-Pod!:D
