You have started something that will last forever no doubt.

The ammount of talent that is out there in Belfast at the moment is phenominal! Belfast is literally bursting at the seams with... well i won't say "talent" because lets face it it isn't all good stuff. But it certainly has alot of potential!

I'm sure if the Duke ever does grace us with a post one of these days it should be to tell us of how cut throat and hard getting a gig together with a packed out audience is.

From following friends bands all these years I can safely say that they never got a sell out crowd in any venue except for maybe Giros.

i have no shame is saying that the majority of bands doing the rounds at the minute are woeful. i've invested vast amounts of money into supprting "the scene" only to be let down again and again. there are a few exceptions but they're getting harder and harder to find amongst all the crap.

I think there will always be crap no matter how much wonderful work comes from other artists.

I don't think its about the scene itself more than the support that it does/doesn't get.

Sure Snow Patrol never really made it until they took a pivotal turn in their music career realising that it was indeed their third and "final straw" of their 3 album record deal and they needed to do something about that... took the dive and well i suppose the rest is history.

I think Belfast could blow the sea sideways if it accually put all its heart and mind into the music it releases however we are most definately not at that point yet. We are still being lead by the hand by what music we listen to nevermind create.
