This is more of a general thing that I have noticed with working on a computer more and more over the past number of years.

How come... Tea takes a longer time to get colder than coffee does when your sitting at a computer?

Is there an acual scientific reason? or is it just co-incidence...

How come tea stays warm longer than coffee? Hmmm...I don't really have the foggiest but I do know this, tea is better! :P Esp. a cuppa with a chocolate bar to dip in it (preferably cadburys).

Mmmmm, one of life's little pleasures.

But Barry's or Lyons tea :?: Still can't decide which is better....

A number of factors to ascertain prior to arriving at a scientific conclusion:

1. Does this phenomenon only take place whilst at a computer?
2. Do both beverages cool at the same rate when away from the computer?
3. Is the same mug used to consume both beverages?
4. Do you 'dunk' in one beverage and not the other?

Haha, yes Kieran it is a very strange thing that it does only happen at the computer and no i dont use the same cup.

But its been happening for the last couple of years and i never really noticed until today when i really wanted the whole mug to stay at the same temp...

Bah! It's one of lifes little things that you will never be able to explain or understand, I suppose that's why they make these:

I rarely drink tea but now give me a moca anyday.... :)
But I do find that coffee stays warmer for longer...? Maybe its to do with the saturation of the water? Like how strong is the tea? How much coffee granules are in the coffee etc?
