Ok I can't hold in the excitement anymore. It is now officially 14 days until I get to see this man live in Limerick, I mean what are the chances!! ALSO... guess who has an interview pass and is actually the only photographer who has interview access for the Limerick gig. w000t

Now, you all know 'Trouble' right. That catchy tune that never gets off the radio. BUT there is SO much more to Ray than that song. If you don't know anymore of his work checkout ye olde myspace at http://www.myspace.com/raylamontagne

(ps latest album is SOOO much better, I didnt think the first could be improved upon but..)

Just back from the gig.

WOW.

Seriously WOW.

I was totally blown away. The man is so shy and modest. he barely spoke and it was obvious he was really nervous speaking, not singing though, he sounded amazing, and his voice was FLAWLESS, absolute perfection!! I could listen to that voice forever.

At the end of the set he left the stage, and the entire audience stood up and clapped and screamed for almost 15 mins. The poor man eventually appeared out, very embarrassed at the reception he had received and played another 3 songs then left.

He even played a George Harrison cover!!! YAYYAY

This is most def. up there with some of the top gigs I have ever been to. Joint second I would say!

For anyone who hasnt given this artist a chance I would seriously rec. thinking outside of the box that is 'Trouble', there is so much more to Ray!!

I really needed a lift this week and that gig made me smile so much.

Sounded like an awesome gig Katie :)
Mr Lamontagne doesn't strike me as the shy type, that must've made the evening all the more special....

What gig comes joint second pray tell?

@ k: yeah he is famous for being shy and introverted... can you believe he still works as a carpenter!!!

Re the gigs... id say it was joint second with the Sugar Club gig!!

Sugar club, for a few reasons... it was the first gig I ever went to on my own, it was the first time I saw Duke live, and despite thinking it was going to be a crap night cos i was going on my own it turned out to be absolutely fantastic, and I even made some new mates that night!!

@claire: wooohooo lucky you!!! I hope you brought him some single malt whiskey, its his fav!! excellent taste has our Ray :)

Yeah i went to see him in Dublin in January. He was brilliant and so shy. He came out of himself at the end though and told us a funny story. He's so lovable! Yeah the new album is so beautiful. Its the perfect summer album-so relaxing. I love Barfly and you Can Bring Me Flowers. :)
