Don't get me wrong - I like Damien Rice, and respect him a lot as an artist (I bought 'O').
How many other people have got to where he is with (pretty much) just a guitar and voice?
That takes something else.
It just appears that Ireland (North, South, and everything after, M'eh!) has clung onto him as if nothing so pure is going to come out of the country again.
Actually, people did the same with David Gray until they realised he didn't come from here... and that was 1998!

Hell, aparently, most of Ireland still think U2 still make "good" music...
...how wrong people are.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who thought U2 lost the plot after Joshua tree !!

I think I've stirred it up a little over at hotpress.com and their obsession with D.Rice
maybe I shouldn't have called them muppets!!!
