Need some help from the Irish people over here :)
At this moment I study Communication science in the Netherlands. Next year I have to do something like a training period. Ireland has the no.1 position in the list of countries I would love to visit, so I was thinking about a training period in Ireland. Does anyone of you know anything about that? Is it hard to find a company where I could do that training period? And how about accomodation, is it possible to rent a room for a few months for example, maybe in Dublin?
Maybe it isn't possible to do a training period in Ireland, so then I would love to visit the country for holiday. Any information about that? Does anyone know where I could stay, what I really have to visit, things like that?

It depends on how rich you are.
university accommodation is available during summer months for a couple of months but I'm quite sure you don't want to do your placement during the summer.
Other than that it's just worth applying with some of the multinationals located in ireland (Oracle, MS, HP etc). Usually multinationals have a strong HR policy and are willing to put something forward for interns.
But even then, Ireland remains horribly expensive.

oops, I'm not Irish, am I. *shuts up*

Haha I am happy with all the information I can get, even when it's from people outside Ireland :) Thanks for the information!

I wouldn't say that Ireland is THAT expensive to live in... you just need to know the wee places to shop. It is slowly but surely being taken over by massive corporations but you still get the cheap places that do the same job!

Compared to Amsterdam etc, I would say that Ireland is around the same price on retrospect.

Any more info needed I'm sure the board will be happy to sort you out with it once you get over here!
