For any Norfolk people, this might be of interest:
THE WINELIGHT CLUB
On the 6th Feb The Winelight Club is holding an evening of singer/songwriters at The Arts Centre, where they will be showcasing the following talents:
Foy Vance - maybe the hottest property in the singer/songwriter market at the moment. On the back of a successful support slot on Bonnie Raitt's recent UK tour, Foy sold out 2 nights at Ronnie Scott's in London and has a single featured in the cult TV series Grey's Anatomy. Described as the missing link between Stevie Wonder and Richie Havens (we would say Van Morrison and Tom Waits) Foy's live performances are a must see for all discerning music lovers.
Jamie Woon - Jamie went down a storm on his recent visit to Norwich and will certainly have a few more fans after this next appearance. His single Wayfaring Stranger has been getting a lot of radio play (particularly on Giles Peterson's Show on Radio1) and he is one of the most talked about new artists on the London music scene at the moment.
Fiona Bevan - described by one on-looker at her appearance at Norwich's Winelight Club in December as being what Lily Allen would be like if she was good. A voice that has been compared to singers from Billy Holiday, to Erykah Badu, to Beth Orton, to Doris Day, and instrumentation so sensitive, sweet, and sparkling it will tingle up your spine.
Tickets are ?6 and are available from the UEA Box Office or online.
