Stuart Maconie (in for Steve Lamacq) just played Portrait and announced that the Duke would be live with Phil Jupitus on the breakfast show tomorrow (usually guests are on the last half hour from 09.30 to 10.00)

yes - he was on this morning and the interview sounded great! They played Portrait and Everybody wants a little something, as well as Duke's choice of a Jeff Martin track.

- made me v. late for work!!

Folks, you can hear Duke's Phil Jupitus interview here:

If there's anything wrong with the recording let me know (I recorded it quickly in work ) but I think everything should sound ok.

Steve.

Actually, I'm just realising that I should have included more of Duke's songs in the clip. Aw well, I'll know for next time...

Forgot to mention, I thought this was an excellent interview - Duke came across really really well and made a great impression. Anybody'd think he was a pro! ;)

I'm really chuffed cos Phill Jupitus played Duke's cover of "Maps" for me today!! :D

I emailed him yesterday to say how great it was to hear Duke on his show last week and could he play another Duke track sometime. Was a bit taken aback when he read it out this morning. Maps sounded glorious on the radio and Phill said how extraordinarily talented Duke is .... He's still on the "free play" list at the moment. Hopefully, there'll be a time when he's on the official playlists too!
