Does anyone know the stage and time for the Duke at the Electric Picnic?
I wanna go argh!! :cry:
He's playing the Damo Rice stage but I dont know what time as of yet I'm fraid! Enjoy though oh and batton down the ol' tents as best you can mate!!
Cheers for the info, i'll try and find out more when I get there. I'm almost resigned to sleeping in the car at this stage... if it doesn't sink or something!

You're both right! Just checked my SPAM folder to find it had an electricpicnic email hidden in it! He's playing on the Big Tree stage on Sunday, from 3:20 - 3:50. Should be good... if we aren't washed away.

There was a really good turn out to see Duke at the Electric Picnic. I was up the front and RTE had some dumb reporter watching it. Just kidding, she wasn't so bad but she did say she preferred Shane Ward... come ON. How could she watch that performance and not be moved by it. Anyway, hopefully you'll all see me looking great on the telly :P
As for the unfortunate end, I just hope it didn't ruin the weekend for the Duke. If you're reading this, just know that the crowd thought you were a legend.Can't wait til the Sugar Club gig!

What unfortunate end? The rain? (I wasn't there)
i was up at the very front of the stage (on the right hand side) for the act ... and i have to say it was great... the weather was good as was the turn out and my friends who i dragged along to it all loved the show :)...
but i'd like to know is he actually ok as at the very end he dived on to an amp and jumped into the crowd... which was brilliant i have to say :) but he wasnt caught the best and may have fallen... i cudnt see as i was to the right and he jumped onto the crowd on the left ... anyway i hope he is ok (can any1 tell me?)... cos that was an awesome thing to do... and if DS is reading this...i hope u know u won my respect forever :) :) :) :) :)

what as the set list
well i fell asleep randomly there for about 7 hours cos i havent slept all weekend really and i have to be at the airport for 6:30am 2moro lol... so no rest for the wicked :P well i didnt have a proper version of Duke specials album b4 goin (i bought a copy there ater the show and im listening to it as i write :) ) so between that and the mass amounts of vodka i drank i cant give the most accurate account of their set but they played all there main songs... opening with a wonderful version, i thought, of kill me quickly please.... i thought the other songs that stood out to the myself and the corwd were wake up scarlet, dont breathe i think and of course (my favourite) freewheel.. all in all a great set i thought :)

He is starting to get into the whole "jumping into/onto things! (*Eg: Vital*)
I'm so sad i couldn't get to this but the funds were seriously low at the time and the tickets were sold out when i did have it! :(
Alas I shall have to see him in the Sugar Club! :wink:

Was a great set - big crowd too. Duke Special + Stagediving = unexpected, but highly entertaining. He dropped a bit short on the dive but seemed to run off ok!
Also, he was talking in the Hotpress tent about an hour after his set and seemed pretty ok - he talked for about half an hour, answered questions etc - good to see him getting some nice media coverage.
All in all, two of my highlights of a brilliant weekend.

duke special + stage diving = Ledgendary :) :) :) ... hope to see more of DS soon :)
Is attending a Duke Special gig getting a bit dangerous now? Perhaps I shouldn't stand too near the front at the Hammersmith one if there's gonna be whisks flying around, piano trashing and stage diving going on!! :wink:

Oh it was all fabulousness. I was a bit worried about him with the whole jumping/falling off the stage thing, shame i didn't see him in the hotpress tent, meant to go to that all weekend and i kept getting distracted.
Alas I shall have to see him in the Sugar Club! :wink:

Although it will be a full week later, I could still be celebrating my 21st so get some soakage into ya first haha!

Yes Ma'am, Mrs Guinness is sorting out the tickets tomorrow as Ticketmaster.ie does not like Mr.Guinness's switch card due to you not having them down there or something of that nature! :x

Oh I told her on her bebo (cos she wanted to surprise you) that I can get them down here if you like? I dont mind at all? Just let me know if ya get it sorted... 8)

He jumped right on top of my girlfriend & I, we know him from the EB (East Belfast :) ) and we talked to him after and he said that he figured we'd be the most sympathetic people to jump on... but he's ok... showed us a huge bruise from jumping at T Vital

That jump at Tennants Vital did look pretty sore, not surprised he got a bruise! Would have loved to have seen it at Electric Picnic though!
