Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes. What better way to spend my birthday than a trip to Belfast. My friend Jill and I went to Giants Causeway today and we braved the rope bridge even though I hate heights. We're now sat in the pub drinking guinness. A lovely end to a lovely day. What's even better is the thought of seeing Duke on Saturday at the pledge gig. I can't wait. :-D

Thanks, folks. I've been really morose all day but people have been lovely. My parents pampered me (and I feel utterly wretched for being so down when they were making such an effort), I had about 100 messages on Facebook, and I went out for a meal with 13 of my friends this evening.

It's not really the age that's the problem, but my fears of how perceptions of me are going to change from now on. I didn't even see myself in friends of mine who are in their 30s. Now I'm another decade removed I'm worried I'm just going to seem immature, sad or desperate - most of my friends are in their 20s. I know that when I was their age, to have a friend who - in some cases - was old enough to be their father would have seemed bizarre.

There's other crap coming with it too, but this was the easier one to address on a forum.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It's been a great day. I got to go and see my little brothers, which was fantastic 'cos I don't see them that often due to distance :(. They had made me a card since their mum was recovering from an operation (nothing serious, and she's almost better now) and didn't feel up to going to get a shop-bought one, but to be honest I prefer the homemade ones because they've put thought and effort in to them. One of the brothers is getting quite good at drawing, actually! We just went to a Burger King in town, but it was still great because they were there.

Didn't get a cake this year - my choice - but I did get a biscuit with some candles in! :D

Celebrated my birthday yesterday with a couple of friends, my mum, auntie and one of my several cousins at my favourite restaurant. Couldn't get much better!

I'll end today with music, drawing and comedy DVDs. Perfect end to a perfect day!

Knew Duke's birthday was January but not the exact day which turns out to be special for me too as it was my parents' wedding anniversary...yet another spooky coincidence and contrary to some speculations, yes, my parents were married before and after my birth till death did them part.
Belated birthday greetings to Peter and Sacha and many happy returns to you both.
