--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I only saw Duke Special when a mate took me to the Divine Comedy concert last year, straight away i bought 10 tickets for tonight. And jaisus am i happy i did. happy happy happy tears, i've never felt happiness like it for someone i just dont know. After his first song he said this was a moment for him, and i felt it, wot an inspiration to anyone and everyone to realise that if you stay true to u and keep pluggin away its all there for the taking. His style is fresh, excitin, crosses all ages and he's just a wee star *
I shook my butt to the funky Brixton Leaves-so burlesque, so sexy so funky so damn cute, Almost buckled to Freewheel, and to have Neil Hannon to duet Tainted Love, well i nearly wet meself ;p
Duke Special u did Belfast and urself mega proud tonite, love and luck to u xXx

yes but why start a whole new thread instead of just joining in with everyone else?

threads about things that are exactly the same as another thread just irk me.
and i know from experience it irks the mods more.

maybe not on this board but definitely on others.

Jainy, I have to say it annoys me too. There are worse ways to have said it. In fact I have seen noobs shot down completely just because they don't the time to have a look around the site first.

When Duke gets huge and there turns out to be 15 threads on his hair then we can start to properly see how irratating it is.

Perhaps Admin could put together 'an idiots guide to using this forum'

Most forums have a "sticky" on the top of each board which usually goes like this : "Please read before posting..." To be honest I love the way our forum doesn't its more of a close community here which i believe is somewhat better than having a load of randoms just posting for the heck of it!

I think when people here ask you to put it in another thread there is usually a good reason for it and helps you come to terms with how everyone here trys to help each other out!

Would you rather that this forum had something along the lines of this:

"Welcome to the Duke Special Forum. Please take thirty seconds to read through the rules before posting. When you've done that, please watch the board for a while to guage what is appropriate, what isnt, who's who, and how to generally behave.

Do this and there will be no problems, but idiocy, flaming and general time wasting are not tolerated here, so be warned.

Apart from that please find the board a welcoming and useful resource.

If you are new, please introduce here with any information you may find useful to regular readers.

Thanks, please behave, and please use these forums to your and everyone else's best advantage."

Ah it prob the fact that the most of us are hungover and sleep-deprived. :(

I think this board differs from so many in that it is very relaxed, with other boards (especially the SP one) things can be very regimented and I guess maybe its needed for a membership of its size. I know that there if certain threads cos off topic you are given a telling off (sometimes quite harshly) for doing so. Hence why I tend to jump straight on the defence over here when that's mentioned

But I do think nudging newer members in the direction of already existing threads is more beneficial to them. Firstly, they are more likely to be integrated into the conversational flow as more people would check an existing thread than begin on a new topic altogether. I guess it's all in the way it comes across!

I thought from previous comments I had made that you all might have picked up on the fact that I was only poking fun, hence all the exclamation marks, smiley faces etc.
I thougt we were getting to know each other and that I could join in with the conversational flow as you put it.
Forgive my familiarity, alot is lost in translation I suppose.

Cheers for the welcome people, happy with yourselves? Bit hard to realise if you're actually fans or just your regular forum nerd bullyboys/girls who don't want anyone else to join in. I think i'll just leave it. You've been wonderful, give yourselves a round of appl....SLAPS :D

Welcome Marion, tis a great place to be, and please forgive Sneaky his intentions are entirely good

*shakes head at realising this is the 2nd time he's been 'for' Sneakybandit'

*in gruff deep voice, as he regains his sanity - remembering whose phone it was that called him yesterday am* Actually he's probably throwing his weight around to make up for something (*waggles little finger*), maybe he should buy a pit bull terrior or a 3 litre souped up Vauxhall Corsa

It was, as a headline act. Which makes a considerable difference to the atmosphere and energy to the artist.
There's a clearly a difference between trying to entertain another artist's fans while they wait for them to come on, and have 1600 people turn up to see you.

Wow! 1600 people! That's about twice the size of the ULU gig which was an incredible atmosphere. Very impressive. :D
