between chip falling off stage, duke banging his piano during salvation tambourine, the performance of john lennon love in the audience, it made for a fantastic show :) i'll post up some photos as soon as i can, but i was just wondering if duke's gonna do an instore in cork?

Yep, it was another great gig. How they manage to keep it somewhat original is beyond me, considering they're playing nearly every night, travelling most days and squeezing countless in-store gigs and interviews in between. Tough work this touring, but they seem to keep it fresh all the same.
I look forward to seeing your photos Livo, I took a few myself too and I'll link them here later. As for the in-store, I've heard nothing more about it; Duke just did an interview on RedFM and didn't mention it so I presume there's none going ahead. Catch them again in the Br?g at the end of the month for the Murphys Live semi final. It's invite only but it should be easy enough to get tickets/on the list if you keep an eye on the bands websites and listen to local radio.
I arrived late-ish last night so I missed Thomas Truax completely. Often gigs advertised for 9pm in Cyprus Avenue (or anywhere for that matter) don't start til 10 so I was surprised that the support was finished by the time I got in, around 9.45. What did you think of him? A few friends who were in before me had differing opinions, from "amazing" and "fantastic" to "useless crap!" Just heard a track on the radio there and it sounds promising.

as for the murphy's live, i'd kill to go but am only 17, wangled my way into the cyprus ave gig.. not sure i'd be allowed into the brog! thomas truax was class.. really imaginative and unusual.. he made his own instruments and he was just.. crazy!! but really enjoyable!

John Lennon Love was the last song, I recorded it along with a couple other songs but I'm having hassle getting them on youtube, I'll post a link here later. In the meantime, check out some photos a friend of mine took:

Thanks for videos there, especially liking 'John Lennon Love' at the end :)
You have the following video listed as 'I Think I'm Losing You' but it's not, can't tell you what it's called as I've never heard it before, great wee song though

Love is hard as it gets older,
All the years that we've been through,
Love will have to get much harder,
To ever stop me loving you..... :smt057
He's certainly going to win over a few hearts with lyrics like that, I'm smitten already

Bless! With that song and Careless Heart and I think I am losing you, there's gonna be a few sloppy love songs on the next album! :smt060

Thanks very_special, yeah I didn't recognise that song so I googled the lyrics and found nothing. I haven't heard "I Think I Am Losing You" yet, and as nearly every other gig started with that song I just assumed that was it.
Any ideas what it might be called?

'I think I'm losing you' is on the b-side of 'Freewheel' btw :)

Quality tune!
I think that gig looked to be nice and wee and full of intimateness...
