Just saw on Twitter that Phil Jupitius was guest on stage with Duke. He said it was fun. It would be great to see if someone on the forum has recorded it. Diggin and Sex, Drugs and R & R.

^^ What's realy funny about that interview is that Dan Hegarty is sold on the idea that Hector Mann was a real person and that our hero doesn't put him straight.:p
Hector Mann was a real person
Duke and his band always talk as if Hector is real. The first I heard of Hector Mann was Duke addressing an audience on a YouTube clip which gave me the impression that Hector Mann was indeed real. I assumed that the author Paul Auster had fictionalised the account of his disappearance and read the book still thinking that. I finally came to my senses when I could find no trace or reference to Mr Mann expect those referring to the Book of Illusions and the fiendish and duplicitous Duke Special who had messed with my mind. :)
However, Duke, at least I've heard of Reggie Perrin! :)
He really existed. Didn't he? . . . .

Me too! and after reading the book as well. It was only when bigspazz and GG told me at the Hoxton Hall gig that he wasn't real. I can see it now but at the time I thought exactly like you. I did feel a bit stupid!!

Russell Watson is my Mother's favourite singer must: she will be ribbing me because Russell is topping the bill. Must remember the red button.
Wonderful videos above - thanks Fizzy - hilarious!
Bit miffed about the proms - have rather stupidly rota-ed myself to work until late on Saturday and have since heard that there may be the chance of tickets from a friend who is (apparently) going to great lengths to secure them. Quite embarrassing if they come through and I cannot go! Meanwhile, the people who I let away early will go - and they are not even Duke fans (yet!).
Grrrrrr!

I just about choked on my drink there. Did he say what I think he said about him and Tim Minchin?! A possibility of a collaboration?!
Did I miss D.S on BBC last night?? Did they show him?? I kept flicking between red button and BBC channel. :(

'Fraid so if you weren't watching BBC2. Duke was the first interval act and sang Freewheel with Ben on sax and Phil on drums (grinning like a Cheshire Cat).
The boys done good even if they weren't sure what planet they were on after all their travels. Try to watch it online Joy.

Should have stayed with the 'red button', Joy, and just watched Hillsborough 'in the park'. They had a really good programme, I thought. And Duke sang four songs (Two songs in the first half. And another 2 later).
I thought, they looked a bit dazed too, although they still managed to pull off fantastic performances!

I nearly passed out watching Duke on proper big live telly. Awesome. I only caught it as a matter of luck. I was expecting something in the "interval" but on the Hillsbrough show he was a central part of the show doing Scarlett,Freewheel, then Diggin' and Last Night. He was so great on the interview as well. Such a nice bloke. The only complaint was I couldn't record it as red button doesn't allow it. Made my week all the same.
I only have freeview so I could not seem to watch just the Hillsborough one but if I'd left it on BBC2 I could of caught one song. :( I knew I would miss it I had the whole family watching too....lol.....their heads were done in me flicking between the two and I still managed to miss it. Thanks for clearing that up tho peeps - glad some of you caught it live - I'll try and watch it on iPlayer. :)
