Any comments from anyone lucky enough to pick up a copy at The Waterfront?

It always take a few listens for me to form an opinion. The cd wallet is nicely produced.

I read an ad in the Irish Independent the other day about Writers' Week. It's in Listowel, Co. Kerry from the 30th of May to the 3rd of June. The ad said that Duke Special is performing on the Friday.

I just thought I'd post it up here in case some people didn't know about this. Not sure if it's widely known about or not. Apologies if it is. :)

What a great nite, foreign slippers were excellent on the night doing an interesting set. But Duke was in superb form, with a mix of old and new. Of the old stuff we had "no cover up, scandal, a brilliant duet version of Freewheel, diggin and our love goes deeper ", while he also did salvation as a request. We also had, Hand of Man, Spititual America, Georgia O Keeffe, a couple from the Ruby Murray CD.
I have to say on first listen some of the new songs are very strong. in all he played about 8-9, i was enjoying myself too much to actually count, but do remember Stargazers, Punch of a friend, Snakes in the grass, condidtion, Lost Chord, How I learned to love the sun, while Little black fish was included in a super encore which also had Love will tear us apart.

Off the new songs apart from Punch which was familiar, I thought Stargazers & Little Black fish are wonderful. while the rest are going to grow on me as usual.

I must comment on the music, Duke had only Phil on Drums & Mark on Hammond, but it was SOOOO good, Phil's drumming was super while the hammond added a new dimension to some of the old classics. For me it was one of the best gigs I have seen Duke play, though the crowd was a bit quiet & Duke just concentrated on the music with little of his usual banter.

The wexford arts centre is an old quaint building with a small & intimate concert hall, excellent venue & night all round.

Struggling to type this, still nursing a hangover from another really late and great night out in Galway.Have to say Róisín Dubh along with The Spirit Store in Dundalk and Dolans in Limerick is up there with my favourite venues in Ireland, always a great atmosphere there. The night started slowly,at first it looked like a poor turnout but the place was packed by the time Duke took to the stage. No Foreign Slippers this time, support came from the excellent Pugwash. In general it was a brilliant night, the only disappointment was a lack of crowd participation in songs like Everybody Wants A Little Something and Diggin' An Early Grave. Mark Edwards MASSIVE performance on Hand Of Man and Salvation Tambourine deserve a mention. The setlist was a mix of old and new.

Spiritual America
Everybody Wants A Little Something
My Lazy Saviour
Hand Of Man
Snakes In The Grass
Nothing Shall Come Between Us
Last Night I Nearly Died
Apple Jack
Punch Of A Friend
Lost Chord
Freewheel
Condition
Love Will Tear Us Apart
Happy Days And Lonely Nights
Scandal
How I learned To Love The Sun
Salvation Tambourine
Wake Up Scarlett
No Cover Up (COMPLETE,NO FORGOTTEN LYRICS VERSION:):))
Little Black Fish
I'm Sticking With You
Diggin' An Early Grave
