I've been in love with this song for a little while now.
I've only just seen the video and, well, it's not dissimilar to being backstage at a Duke Special gig...
I've bought her album but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet!
Song takes a little while to kick in, but what a chorus! I just can't it out of my head.

Great tune that. Must see if I can get a wee download from somewhere...

The video is all a good bit classier than backstage at The Empire for sure... and she wears a dress so much better than Chip does...

I agree, that's a great song and she has a really interesting voice -
kinda makes me think of 'Chrissie Hynde sings Duke Special, maybe with a bit of Blondie thrown in as well!

This is pretty fab actually. Keep us informed as to how the album sounds. Agree with the analysis Jacqui - a quirky mix of all of those 3 folk!!

Smile Cara Cowan

Has anyone heard of Cara Cowan? Gerry Anderson (Radio Ulster) had her performing in the studio last week and has been playing a few of her songs lately. She is quite young with a very unique sound, and has a really lovely voice.

GA mentioned that we should forget about Duke and Foy Vance, old hat, and listen to this young lady for a change!

Cara's done a few gigs for us at deadonmusic. Very talented girl indeed and her da was in the old Belfast punk band The Outcasts.

You can see Cara perform on Monday, 5th July singing one of her songs on BBC2 television - Imeall Geall at 10.00 pm; the song is called 'Surprise Surprise'; another recording will be shown on their internet site, called 'Names'.

You can view some of her other work at - http://www.bandwidthsessions.com/Cara-Cowan - and myspace.com/carafayecowan.

I will definitely watch this tonight. Listening to more of her recordings has convinced me to buy her album. Is there one available at the moment?

Are you a relative, Kathleen?
