THE SEAHORSE & THE WOLF - LITTLE AMAL VISITS BELFAST

Duke is thrilled to have been asked to participate in The Seahorse and Wolf, a very special event on Thursday 16th May in Belfast, celebrating the arrival in Ireland of Little Amal.

Little Amal is a puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl, designed and built by Handspring Puppet Company, the creators of the puppets for the hit play War Horse.

Since July 2021, Little Amal has visited 16 countries in Europe and North America and has become a global symbol of human rights, especially those of refugees. For her first visit to Ireland, she will be welcomed to Belfast with a series of free family celebrations from 16th – 19th May, co-created with theatre director Des Kennedy, leading artists and residents of the city. She then embarks on an onward journey across Ireland, heading south to Newry, Mourne and Down and finishing in Dublin.

She arrives in Belfast by boat and a procession of music leads Amal to Custom House Square where there will be an outdoor theatre spectacle of music and dance co-created with hundreds of residents and performers from across the city - and featuring a special appearance by Duke!

This is a FREE ticketed event - to register for tickets, click HERE
