Huckleberry Finn EP

This E.P is Duke Special’s own take on the unfinished musical (originally by Kurt Weil) that draws inspiration, and creation from the novel “Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain.
Duke says;

I had been aware of the music of Kurt Weil for some time mainly as a spectre in the work of Tom Waits but was properly introduced to it by my good friend Réa Curran through a song called Catfish and was immediately arrested by it. I learned the Catfish song and began to include it in my set from time to time. Later, I discovered that it came from an unfinished work of Weil’s about the Novel Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (Weil died in 1950 before he and his lyricist Maxwell Anderson were able to complete the play). This is the first time all 5 songs from the unfinished play have been recorded. To my immense pleasure the Kurt Weil Foundation have listened to the recording, affirming that it retains the spirit of Weil, a great endorsement indeed! .
