late–night work–in–progress performances in a cabaret setting at the festival this July, ahead of its full world premiere production in 2020.
Presented by Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival, and based on the novel by Patrick McCabe, this musical adaptation has been written by Bob Kelly with music composed by Duke. It tells the story of a wonderfully erratic child from the rural Irish border town of Tyreelin called Patrick / Pussy Braden, illegitimate offspring of an errant priest and a long–gone local girl. Dismayed by small–town bigotry, religious repression and the IRA’s lack of fashion sense, they set out for the big city of London in search of their long–lost mother, and a fantastic world where their feet don’t touch the ground. Breakfast on Pluto is a journey of self–discovery that all fabulously attired, highly–strung foundling glam–things will love.
These 2 work-in-progress shows will take place at The Black Box Theatre in Galway on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July and tickets for both performances are on sale now.
