It was only a Dream

Can a song written over a hundred years ago still be relevant here in 2021? How do songs echo, reinforce or contradict who we are and the place where we live?

Join Duke and his house band for a night of songs discovered from old sheet music at the Belmont Bowling Club in Ballyhackmore on Friday 19th November. Some of the songs will be new to you, some might tug at a memory in the back of your mind.

The second half of the evening will be an informal folk club,facilitated by friends of Duke Special. Do you have an old song you would like to share? This part of the evening will allow the conversation to continue, and for members of the audience to sing a song they have brought with them.

The event has been supported by the National lottery Heritage Fund and Northern Ireland Office through the Shared History Fund to mark the Centenary of Northern Ireland.
