Your Song Now!

Posted on Friday 22nd May

Duke is thrilled to be involved in a brand new song project with the Ulster Orchestra called #UOYourSongNow! Inspired by not being able to perform in public at the moment, the orchestra have set a challenge, asking people to create new songs which will then be arranged and performed by the orchestra. Duke is on the mentor panel, alongside musician Kitt Philippa and arranger/conductor Paul Campbell. They will be listening to the submitted songs and picking their favourites. Each of the mentors will then work with the writers of the chosen songs, culminating in the recording of a brand new arrangement of it, which will be performed with members of the Ulster Orchestra.

If you are interested in getting involved, you need to record a video of your song and submit it for consideration. Your song should be something new - either something that you’ve been working on recently, or something that you have been moved to write in response to this invitation from the orchestra.

You can watch a video explaining the project here

The deadline for submissions is midnight on Sunday 31st May.

More information and full instructions on how to submit a song can be found on the UO website here
